Gift Ideas for Camper, Van and Bus Owners: Practical Upgrades from €9.68

Looking for a present for someone who lives half their life in a camper, van or bus? Skip the novelty mug. These are small upgrades they will actually fit and use, sorted by budget.

Why a practical upgrade beats a gadget

Anyone who owns a camper, a converted van or a coach has a list in their head of small things that annoy them: a dark corner over the bed, a roof fan that lets snow in, a switch that does not match the rest of the dashboard. A gift that crosses one of those off the list gets fitted the same weekend and used for years.

Everything below runs on the vehicle's own electrics or on the wind, fits through a small hole or screws onto a surface. It all ships from our stock in the Netherlands. Prices include 21% VAT.

Under €25: stocking fillers that still get used

Snow Filter 89-5011 (€9.68). A carbon mesh strip that sits inside a Le Mans or Round roof ventilator and stops snowflakes, insects and the last drops of rain without choking the airflow. If the person you are buying for has a Le Mans or Round fan (not the Le Mans LL), this is the cheapest winter upgrade there is.

Fan Switch 89-4008 (€14.52). An illuminated 3-way rocker with a ventilation symbol, rated 25 A at 12 V and 15 A at 24 V. It replaces a loose toggle or an anonymous switch with one that looks factory fitted.

LED Rock Light (€24.20). A small sealed LED light with nine SMD LEDs and two mounting eyes. Owners put it in lockers, under steps, in the garage of a camper or in a wheel arch, anywhere they now search with a torch.

€48 to €55: light where they read and work

LED Reading Light with Switch (€54.45). A surface-mounted 12 V reading spot with a rotating lens head and its own rocker switch. No recess is needed, so it goes above a bunk, a cab seat or a workbench with two screws and a cable to the nearest 12 V feed.

Dome LED Light Round Ø 150 mm (€48.40). A flat 13.5 mm dome light with 24 white and 6 blue LEDs, dual voltage 12/24 V, IP67 and a blue night-light mode. Made in the Netherlands, white or grey. A good pick for a bus, ambulance or horsebox as well as a camper.

€89 to €103: fresh air for small spaces

Winglet Mini Roof Fan (from €89). A tiny extractor for a camper kitchen, a toilet compartment, a dog box or a small van. The 12 V version (€102.85) moves 65 m³/h at just 3 W and 32 dB(A) through an 80 mm hole; the motorless version (€89) works as a passive vent. Interior grille, open/close frame and saw template are in the box.

Turbo III Compact Wind-Driven Ventilator (€96.80). No wiring at all: the cowl turns in the wind and extracts around 120 m³/h at motorway speed through an 80 mm cut-out. It snaps together without glue and comes with an open/close valve. A sensible gift for someone who does not want to touch the electrics.

Before you buy: two quick checks

First, the voltage. Most campers and vans run on 12 V, most coaches and many trucks on 24 V. The reading light, rock light and Winglet are 12 V; the dome light and fan switch handle both. Our guide 12V or 24V explains how to check in two minutes.

Second, the existing roof fan. The snow filter fits the Le Mans and Round, not the Le Mans LL. Not sure? Send us a photo through the contact page and we will tell you what fits before you order.

Ordering in time

Orders ship from the Netherlands. For delivery times and returns see shipping and returns. If you are buying for Sinterklaas (5 December) or Christmas, order in November so there is time to swap a version if the voltage turns out to be different.

Frequently asked

What is a good small gift for a camper owner?

The Snow Filter (€9.68), the illuminated Fan Switch (€14.52) or the LED Rock Light (€24.20). All three are easy to fit and solve a real annoyance, as long as you check the voltage and the existing roof fan first.

Can the person I buy for fit these themselves?

Yes for most of them. The reading light, rock light, dome light and switch need a 12 V or 24 V feed and a few screws. The Winglet and Turbo III need an 80 mm hole in the roof; the saw template is included.

Can a gift be exchanged if it does not fit?

See our shipping and returns page for the exact terms. The most common reason for a swap is the wrong voltage, so check that before ordering.
